A recent study performed at the Leicester Diabetes Centre in England revealed an injectable diabetes treatment known as oral semaglutide could also lower blood sugar as well as promote weight loss if taken by mouth.

The study revealed that oral semaglutide improved the health of patients with Type 2 diabetes. When taken once a day, the pill helped to lower HbA1c levels (a measurement of blood glucose) by upwards of 1.9 percent over a three month period, while also helping aid in weight loss.
